Breathe Forward - Emotional Awareness Training

Learn emotional awareness though a technique called the Alba Method. Each class will have a specific focus of emotional awareness, emotional experience, basic emotions, and emotional anatomy. The Alba Method is a somatic method for teaching people about their emotions in a safe, non-esoteric practice. This work is great for actors and other performers to gain nuanced control over their range of emotional expression. This technique is also freeing for everyone to learn and an excellent tool in building empathy, civility, emotional
health and safe communities.
Drop ins welcome, first class on Sept. 8th is free.

(4 weeks) Sept. 13th - Oct. 4th

Focus on the body mechanics and isolations on which anyone can build their dance knowledge and/or add to their repertoire of movement possibilities. Our instructor’s heart is truly in the precision and technique of dance itself. The movements are based in Middle Eastern dance styles. This will be a non-gendered dance class, and intended for adults (over 16). Low to no impact.
Community Yoga and Meditation
Pay what you can/want - suggested $10/class
Community yoga and meditation classes with Kait Carsky and Bri Piccari. These events will be for all ages and abilities. All you will need is yourself, water, and your yoga mat (option of blocks and straps). We will be creating space for ourselves to expand and grow... maybe even learning a little about ourselves.
These are a drop-in classes that run every week.
Urban Dance Sesh
YM 0125 Tuesdays 6-8pm
Feel the beat, move your feet. We’ll share some fundamental moves while encouraging individuality. All levels encouraged. Diversity is key (that means YOU)! So bring your your young self, old self, black self, brown self, white self, feminine self, masculine self, and everything in between and beyond! These weekly sessions are just the beginning of a much bigger vision!
